Return of the Highlight Vault

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm back with the Highlight Vault. It's straightforward. Players tag me on social media (@prep_q) and I watch videos and comment on what I see. I try not to repeat players during the season (club, high school) so I can highlight as many players as I can. It's been slow so far this year so I will share those who did tag me and some I just happened to come across in my downtime. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Isabella Maracek - 2029 - L/DS - HPSTL 14 Royal</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm going against a major rule I've held since I started writing in 2020, not talk about athletes until their freshman season. Well, because I didn't get tagged much and Isabella tagged me often she gets to be featured. She is a dependable defender making waves for HPSTL 14 Royal. Her play is steady and she is accurate on her digs to her setter. You can already see she has a knack for reading the hitters and cutting down alleys. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Addison McNeive - 2026 - L/DS - PVA 17 Elite</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McNeive has been featured in the past and each season she continues to improve. She has already made big strides from a productive high school season for Notre Dame De Sion. She can see the work she has put in with foot speed. Her first step appears to be quicker and she's getting touches on quite a few balls others may not get to. She continues to shine in the passing game with high accuracy. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='485593' first='Jersey' last='Robinson'] - 2027 - RS - HPSTL 15 Royal</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I saw Robinson collect a handful of kills in a match versus Northern Lights. She has a few tricks up her sleeve in shot selection from hard cross to pulling the string on roll shots. One area I like about her game is she works hard to stay behind the ball, especially on sets from the libero or DS. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cora Kubik - OH - MoJrs. 417 15 Elite</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At Triple Crown, Kubik had an 8-kill performance against Surfside and looked strong in play in her highlights. Like Robinson, Kubik has a full toolbox of shots to operate from. She showed the ability to score on the pipe also, which is an added asset to her game and offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='544696' first='Katelyn' last='Heidbreder'] - 2027 - OH - Invasion 16 Black</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heidbreder is a young pin with some upside. I saw her collect 7 kills in a highlight reel where she was aggressive at the net with overpasses, which led to scoring opportunities. She takes effective swings from both pins and does a good job of reading the block. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
