Clark’s court awareness and confidence are increasing each time she takes the court. When setters put balls high enough, Clark sprays balls to different parts of the court. Clark took enough off one balls to paint the back line. Clark has worked on rotating her right wrist to where her thumbs are pointing down to the ground on contact to hit balls away from blockers. Clark continues to develop a solid blocking technique and quickly puts down overpassed balls. Clark said her one-on-one work with BVA Director Kayla VanHoose has helped her with her court awarness.

Clark (pictured) used her size well her sophomore season to improve her numbers up front. She takes good rips from the middle and the outsides depositing balls to different parts of the court, especially when setters hit the peak of her swing. Clark also forms sound double blocks and has great reactions on blocked balls to keep plays alive. A quicker arm swing will help Clark take her game to the next level. Clark had 243 kills, 80 solo blocks, 62 assisted blocks and 77 digs to help Johnson Central make it back to the 15th Region Tournament.

Clark has shown she can be a force at the net. Her confidence grew tremendously during club season and it is paying off for the Eagles. She takes nice swings at the net and forms timely double blocks with teammates, consistently forcing balls high and wide. When the setters hit her at the top of her swing, she sends balls down with force.

Clark played on the Bluegrass Volleyball Academy 18U Floyd County Navy National team with many players three years older than her this season and gained a higher level of confidence. Clark has learned to use her size to control the net better with both blocking and hitting. She uses angles well and forces a number of balls high and wide extending her arms.

Clark impressed with her solid play on an 18s national team over the weekend in Hamilton. Clark pounds balls with her right hand, but is not afraid to throw defenders off using her left hand to tap balls to open parts of the court. Clark does a great job smacking balls through defenders. She is a sound blocker, who gets good touches on balls if not forcing balls high and wide. Clark can have a solid career with her size and a strong work ethic.

Clark is going to be one to watch in the 15th Region for years to come if she keeps working at it. Clark impressed with her dominant play at the net playing on an 18s team. Clark hits balls right through defenders to the ground. She goes high and forces hitters to go high and wide if she does not get touches on them. Clark is a righty, but switched to the left hand in the air and tapped the ball to the open side of the court.
