VanHoose said Lafferty’s serve reception kept the team in first tempo offense on the first day. Lafferty had to move to the front row as the result of an injury. Lafferty is a versatile player for the Jaguars. She makes crisp passes to get Floyd Central into a good offensive flow, but also wound up being a big part of the offense at outside hitter for the Jaguars. Lafferty’s positive presence rubs off on her teammates. She’s always encouraging them on the court.

Lafferty (pictured) is trying to turn into a sound all-around player for the Blackcats and her club team. Lafferty patrols the back row on defense constantly making two to three-point passes, even diving on the floor to make pancake digs. Lafferty has shown the ability to smack balls from all six positions on the court. She can pound one to the back line from the back row. Lafferty had 138 kills and 295 digs for Prestonsburg this past fall.
