The Squad VBCFor me, I always try my hardest. Whether we are in a tournament, scrimmage, or even just practice. I will always go for the ball, trying to get the best pass possible. Whether I get it up or not, the important thing is that I try. I try to be flexible with the balls I swing at as a hitter because not all sets come straight to me.

About Carolyn
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
For me, I always try my hardest. Whether we are in a tournament, scrimmage, or even just practice. I will always go for the ball, trying to get the best pass possible. Whether I get it up or not, the important thing is that I try. I try to be flexible with the balls I swing at as a hitter because not all sets come straight to me.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Personally, I love to keep spirits high. Sometimes we get in our heads when we are losing and I always try to get people out of that state, because it happens to everyone. For me, having the mentality that I can get to the ball, helps me actually get to the ball. I love to cheer on my team whether im playing or on the bench
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Currently, I am on the A&B honor roll, which is for students who have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Right now, I am not in any non sport clubs, because I have a busy schedule with both my teams, and my school does not offer many.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
When I was younger, I don't think I was a very collaborative person. But being on a team like this has definitely changed that. Everyone makes mistakes, and I can't get mad at my teammates for that because I make mistakes too. I have learned to work with people better, because I understand what they feel.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One of the biggest challenges I face and still do face is my dads job. He works for the government, meaning they send us to different places around the country (posts) every 2-3 years. This has been really hard for me, because every time we move, I have to leave my friends behind, and start all over again. I am still in contact with a few from our last post (Abu Dhabi), but it was still hard.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that has a good academic program as well as a good athletic program and a good balance between them so I don't fall behind in one or the other. I also want to go to a school that has a good campus life, and is very social, because I am a very social person.
