About Aria

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is aggressive yet disciplined. Being both an OH and MH between club and school ball, I focus on being a reliable and all-around player. A faster paced game is where I thrive. In the heightened energy and stress of the game I am even more energized and aggressive. I am highly attentive to my teammates and opponents' actions staying versatile for my next touch.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring a competitive but positive mindset to every match, practice and training session. I don't dwell on mistakes, instead I take them as an opportunity to grow. Off the court I may be viewed as introverted or shy but by those that know me they would likely disagree. I am approachable, supportive and steer clear of negativity. I lead by example by putting in the extra work needed to improve.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been recognized for my academics, earning Honor Roll status each semester. This year, I am challenging myself with dual enrollment credit courses. I have participated and starred in Regional Music Contest, allowing me the opportunity of State music competition playing a saxophone solo.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In volleyball, I am always working to keep my team hyped, especially in tough situations. I work hard on specials in the off season to become more versatile and expand my development as a player. Off the court, I participate in community service events through my school; Jessy's Toybox and Community clean-up events. This has helped me see the value in contributing to something bigger than myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Exclusively, I have been a MH/MB for club and school. For club season 25, I was OH. It was quite a change at first. I learned a new position quickly and looked forward to more serving and passing rotations. I did have some shoulder discomfort after our first tournament, but I recovered quickly. I took the time to correct my swing mechanics. I found myself to love and thrive as an OH.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college where I can compete at a high level in volleyball while pursuing a strong academic program. I value a close-knit team, a supportive coaching staff and a campus that supports my growth as an athlete and student.
