We're getting within a month of the class of '27 starting to receive the first (legal) wave of commitments, so what better time than now to talk about the kids that might receive those offers? Here are five middles from five different clubs that have been turning heads and (hopefully) earning offers.

Playing up two years for the Samurai (18-1), Carsyn is an easy pick for a Power 4 middle that can do everything you need a high-level middle to do at the next level. Smooth on the attack, calculated and well-disciplined on the block and quick in her transition between the two, Miss Comer's only question mark is improving her overall stamina. After training with the Samurai this spring, a Power 4 college season might be easier for her in the long run.

Speaking of a smooth-playing middle, Miss Mays is the M1 for Circle's top 16s squad. With length for days and the ability to render blocks useless because of the height of her attack touch, Milana's only true weakness is her upper body strength---and that is an absolute nitpick, as her arm swing is quick and her leg drive allows her transition to be very fluid. Her season has really exposed just how good she's become, as her open-level play is more than ready for the next level.

Big and physical, Avery is capable of playing both middle and right side for any D1 program looking for a hybrid big. I liked her willingness to play both positions at our showcase last summer, and that leads me to believe that her coachability is off the charts as well. I'd like to see a little more arm speed and some quicker feet in transition, but considering how well her season has gone, those are traits that can be addressed in the off-season.

Although Miss Wake is the shortest on today's list, she's probably the most athletic of the bunch. Springy and instinctual, Brooklyn is a no-nonsense middle that has future D1 M2 written all over her. With quick transitional feet and an even quicker arm, terminating any set in front of the setter is not an issue. Sprinkle in her jumping ability, and you can see from the start of any match how much quicker she is than her opposing middles. If I were to nitpick, I'd like to see a wider block width, as she's already jumping and pressing so well when she blocks. With more width comes more area of the net to defend, making it that much tougher to play against her.

The rise of this young lady over the last two years has been nothing short of meteoric. Putting together her length, her athleticism and her volleyball acuity over the years has risen her stock so much that it's hard to remember where she came from. Long and lean for days, Kinley plays bigger than her frame, has the skill set to take over a match on both offense and defense, and when adding her quick transition, she's nearly impossible to stop when in-system. All that's left for Miss Young to perfect her game is time and training, which should be right up her alley because of that high level of work ethic.
