This group of rising stars isn't waiting for high school to make their mark; they're already stacking accolades, dominating on big stages, and showing the kind of drive and skill that set future elite athletes apart. From USA NTDP selections to state championships and national recognition, these South Dakota athletes are proving that age is just a number when it comes to impact. [player_tooltip player_id='728637' first='Julia' last='Masselink'] is already making national-level noise—and she hasn't even entered high school yet. With an impressive résumé that includes five USA NTDP selections, a 2025 Girls Indoor NTDP Experience invite, a state championship title as an 8th grader, UA Next Middle School MVP honors, and an All-American nod at 14 Open AAU, Julia is well ahead of the curve.   Her attacking game is lethal—explosive, precise, and fearless. She terminates with authority and reads the court like a seasoned vet. Julia doesn't just play the game—she dominates it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: she's on track to be one of the most talked-about players in the Class of 2029 and could very well rise to be one of the top names in the country.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='748088' first='Morgan' last='Manthey'] is an electric presence in the libero jersey. She's quick, aggressive, and plays with a fearless edge that immediately grabs your attention. Morgan's ability to read hitters, cover the court, and make tough plays look routine sets her apart. Her platform is clean, her footwork is fast, and she brings contagious energy to every play. Whether it's tracking down a tip or delivering a dime in serve receive, Morgan brings consistency and fire. She's the kind of libero you want anchoring your defense—and she's just getting started.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='755127' first='Maddy' last='Vliem'] is already showcasing a high ceiling with her combination of size and skill. Standing at 6'0", she plays with confidence at the net and is a presence you can't ignore. Whether in the middle or on the right, Maddy brings a fast, powerful arm swing and a strong, controlled approach. She's beginning to read the game well and is learning how to time her block and transition efficiently. With continued development, especially in footwork and decision-making, Maddy has the tools to become a dominant front-row player. As a hitter, she's developing solid timing and isn't afraid to swing aggressively, especially in out-of-system situations. She adjusts well to different sets and is learning how to use the block and find smart shots. Surrounded by proven leaders at her high school, she's in a great environment to learn what it takes to win.
