How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay style grabs peoples attention! I am a quick, dynamic player known for my swift movements, strategic thinking that complements my high game intelligence, and contagious high spirit! With a loud voice to help me and teammates communicate to execute key plays. All in all creates not just a smart and aggressive player, but one that can accomplish wins.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have and will always have the mentality of the phrase "Handle hard better" by Kara Lawson. Starting volleyball 3 years ago was hard starting from the bottom having to constantly prove myself. But using that as an excuse won't make anything easier. Instead of looking at this a disadvantage, I use it as motivation. This phrase sticks with me whether that be in the court or classroom.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at my school. This organization helps students stay rooted in their faith with other athletes like me. I believe this is more than a program that meets up every Monday to talk about Jesus. This can help lives and possibly save them. Being a part of this helps me realize that my worth is not defined in sports but in Jesus Christ!
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Starting from a young age I have always been a natural leader. For example, becoming captain the year I was on the JV to simply being the oldest of three. With leadership comes sticking up for what you believe in, and I believe in giving back to the community. Helping sort in the store called "Harvest House" to spending quality time in the retirement homes is just a fraction of my input.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Throughout my sports journey, I have had to face many obstacles. One that frequently happens is getting moved up to a higher position. Yes, this is a blessing, but also means many adjustments in place. From playing on the freshman team and switching to JV mid-season, then next year on JV getting moved up to varsity. With all of this, I have continued to prove why the coach made the right decision!
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that has a program, coaches, and teammates that all have the same goal in mind...to win! I want to be surrounded by people who push me and vise-versa. Outside of the sports aspect, I would like to be attending a college that feels like a second home to me. From the people, classrooms, weather, and spirit!
