About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a hard working OH who values consistency, coachability, and team success. I strive to be dependable in serve receive and defense while playing with confidence and aggression as an attacker.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Junior Honor society, President's Award for Educational Excellence

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me the value of teamwork, communication, resilience and leadership by example. I strive to be a positive teammate who works hard and supports others. Through my volunteer work with Joshua House, I have also developed a strong sense of community service and responsibility.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up, I have lived in both the United States and Singapore, which required me to adapt to different schools, cultures, and environments. Although challenging, it helped me become more independent, open-minded, and comfortable stepping outside my comfort zone.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with strong academics, competitive volleyball, and a strong biology and research program. I want to be part of a supportive team and campus community where I can grow both as a student and an athlete.
