About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe myself as a loud, scrappy libero. Im always on my toes, and i always constantly read the ball no matter wheres its headed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to win. Not for others, but for yourself. Every game is a push to becoming better, and thats the way i phrase it to myself during a tournament, or game. This is the mindset for me, letting loose and having fun with my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, i play for HBC volleyball club and i have been for the past 3 years, my first year (13u) being a middle, and the past two years becoming a libero/DS. I have also done club beach volleyball for 2 years outside of school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Ive developed great communication skills, and reading the ball skills during the past couple years at club. Im extremely grateful for the coaches who helped me get this far and improve significantly.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, being a libero is very difficult due to the challenge of earning that jersey. There is much competition within being a libero to win that spot, or become a DS.

What type of college are you looking for?

Anything costal, offering me a great academic life and social life outside of school. Hopefully a smaller community and hometown.
