About Brielle

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My name is Brielle Smith, and I am a 5’9” left handed OH/RS from NRG Volleyball Club (#20). I currently touch 10’ on approach and 9’5” on block. I'm a 6-rotation player that utilize my athleticism to make plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to win by any means. To me, there is no ball I can't get to or no play I can't make. I love to hustle, communicate with my team and express my leadership while on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have played at NRG Volleyball Club for the past 6 years, reaching Nationals each year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball and my academic experiences, I’ve developed strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Being part of a team has taught me how to support others, stay accountable, and work toward a common goal. Balancing athletics with challenging coursework has also strengthened my time management and resilience. These qualities will help me succeed both on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing competitive volleyball with a rigorous academic schedule, especially while taking advanced classes to prepare for nursing. There were times when practices, games, and travel made it difficult to keep up with assignments. I learned to manage my time carefully, stay organized, and ask for help when needed. This experience strengthened my discipline, resilience, and ability to perform.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a reputable nursing program where I can earn my BSN, and that also has a competitive volleyball program. I want a school that supports student-athletes and helps balance academics and athletics.
