The Volleyball Interview: Fallon Stutheit

<h6 style="text-align: right;">Photo Credit: Lincoln Journal Star</h6> <p>This is the second article in the series The Volleyball Interview, highlighting influential high school Nebraska volleyball players of all ages and levels to get to know them on and off the court on deeper level.</p> <p>Fallon Stutheit is a junior at Johnson-Brock and University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball commit for the class of 2018. She is an outstanding recruit being ranked 12^th in the Prep Dig Nebraska class of 2018 recruits. Being a three year starter has elevated Stutheit’s talent having 208 kills so far this season, with a .560 hitting percentage. She also packs a punch at the serving line with 25 aces so far. Here is my interview with Fallon:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite social media platform?</strong></p> <p>“My favorite social media platform is Twitter.”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite sports brand and why?</strong></p> <p>“My favorite sports brand is Adidas. It all started because I could find volleyball shoes in size 13!”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite team to play and why?</strong></p> <p>“One of my favorite teams to play is Auburn because we are in the same county, so the game brings in a really good crowd which makes it super fun to play!”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite gym to play in and why?</strong></p> <p>“The Devaney is a natural first choice for my favorite gym to play in but there is also nothing like playing in front of our community and fans in our home gym.”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite pre-game meal?</strong></p> <p>“For a pregame meal, I usually just have a snack like fruit or string cheese. On the bus ride home from away games, our parents provide meals for us so my favorites are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or a Subway sandwich with just turkey and bread because I’m a really picky eater. And I love Subway M&amp;M cookies!”</p> <p><strong>What is your go-to drink when competing?</strong></p> <p>“I usually just have really cold water while playing or the occasional light blue Gatorade.”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite moment in your high school volleyball career?</strong></p> <p>“My favorite high school memories so far are winning back to back state championships. There is nothing like getting to play at the Devaney with my teammates since 3^rd grade and in front of our whole community. My other favorite memory is beating our rival in the conference championship last year on our home court.”</p> <p><strong>What do you want your college major to be?</strong></p> <p>“I’m not sure about my major in college but I am thinking about something in the medical field- possibly occupational therapy.”</p> <p><strong>What makes you excited about going to Nebraska?</strong></p> <p>“I am very excited to go to Nebraska. The tradition of volleyball at Nebraska is so rich and the fan base is so strong. I love everything about UNL. It is close to home and all of my family lives in Nebraska.”</p> <p><strong>What is your favorite off the court activity and why?</strong></p> <p>“Some of my favorite off the court activities are traveling when I get the chance. I hope to do more when I have more time. I also hope to go on a mission trip to Haiti if it works out between club tournaments this summer! I also have shown pigs at our county fair every summer since I was eight and it has always been one of my favorite summer activities.”</p>
