Offensive Standouts at Houston Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school volleyball season is quickly approaching in the state of Texas, and on Sunday, we from Prep Dig Texas had a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand some of the talented prospects who are set to start their high school careers over the next few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our traditional Prep Dig Freshman Showcase made it to Houston, with dozens of the best class of 2029 players from H-Town and beyond getting together for two hours of fast-paced drills at the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] facility.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a privilege to have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the prospects we'll be covering for the next four years and there was a lot of talent on display on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're taking the week to feature some of the players who stood out in our showcase, and now it's time we recognize the prospects who displayed impressive offensive tools during the event:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["789391"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68936cb79818e"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">A right side hitter, Gibson displayed an interesting ability to put the ball down in difficult situations, scoring at a high rate in out-of-system plays. A lefty, she seemed to always find a way through the block, using her solid technical skills to make different shots. Gibson also had a solid blocking presence, getting in front of opponents and pressing them above the net. Extremely athletic, she spent time in all three positions at the net and made an impact in each of them, playing aggressively and showing impressive power to get off the floor and hit the ball. She also did a great job of using her superior vision to control her power and make the right choices, keeping her errors very low. She spent time on the left and the right and was very efficient on both sides, displaying a great ability to adapt. Very physical, she gets off the floor very well and has a lot of power in her left arm. She proved to be resourceful in out-of-system plays too, finding difficult angles to beat blockers and using intelligent tips when blockers stood in front of her. Vidito also played solid defense, offering a strong blocking presence at the net and displaying great effort to play defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
