Open Gym Fantastic Four (Free Report)

In this article:
This is the fourth and final scouting report from the Kansas Networks Volleyball Club open gym, which took place on August 7. It is also a FREE report, so share and repost it to your heart’s content.
With the newest version of The Fantastic 4 currently in theatres, I figured I would pay tribute to the movie and four athletes deserving of coverage.
These four athletes REALLY stood out during the two-hour workout. I would have liked to have featured them in my first report, but held them back like a Michael Keaton Batman movie; a movie that only gets better with age!

Caityn Asmann Caityn Asmann 6'1" | RS/MB Derby | 2028 KS , 6’1”, RS/MB, Derby, ’28
Asmann will play the role of “Mrs. Fantastic.” She is all arms and legs and hits with authority. The Derby prospect is in the Class of 2028 and currently unranked, but look for her to be somewhere in the Top 50 when that class gets updated in October. Especially if she comes out and posts solid numbers for the Panthers early in the season. She was not at all intimidated going up against stronger and older players during the open gym.
Gracie Liggett Gracie Liggett 5'11" | OH KS , 5’11”, OH/MB, Trinity Academy, ’29
Liggett will be cast as “Human Torch.” She was en fuego during the open gym. She was hitting balls from every angle and with bad intentions. I hear she is a hot commodity on the beach volleyball scene, as well, but is willing to pursue college ball in the sand or on the court. She debuted in the Class of 2029 rankings at No. 14 overall. She is for sure a “white-hot” prospect to be moved into the Top 10 during the next round of ranking updates.

Maize’s Tran will be starring as “Invisible Woman.” She moves so fast on the court that if a coach or scout blinks, they might miss her. She was flying all over the court during the open gym. She plays with high energy and has natural leadership skills. I wish athletes had a chance to serve during the workout. An invisible and deadly diving serve could make a difference in her recruitment.
Megan Klabo Megan Klabo 6'0" | MB Andale | 2027 KS , 6’0”, MB, Andale, ’27
The muscle of the Fantastic Four, “The Thing,” will be played by Andale’s Klabo. She is rock solid, and I loved the way she carried herself during the open gym. She played with “swagger” during the workout. Andale was represented by multiple athletes at the open gym, and they might very well be a state title-contending team, based on how they come together as a unit. I was impressed with Klabo and two of her other Indian teammates. Kablo has the skills to have a mountain-like presence at the net as a junior.
