The 2025 prep season is just about one week away and last week we recently ran a series of preseason polls to see who you expected to see win the Player of the Year honor in each division.

Each poll ran for one week and we had over 100,000 votes combined between each division.

Here's a look at who cracked the top 5 for each of the four polls.

Division 1

1. [player_tooltip player_id='226885' first='Allie' last='Davison'], Marian: The senior setter for the Mustangs has proven she can step up in big matches and be effective in multiple areas of the game.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='459740' first='Aubrey' last='Reynolds'], Caledonia: This junior outside hitter is going to get an opportunity to step up in a big way for a Caledonia team that graduated a lot of talent. She seems capable to handle the challenge.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='839890' first='Skyye' last='Frailey'], Troy Athens: A do-everything outside, Frailey could be a top POY candidate if she can help lead Troy Athens out of a crowded Oakland County area. She's definitely going to leave it all on the floor.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='446706' first='Payton' last='Nelson'], Lakeland: A 6'1” outside with a strong defensive background, Nelson is another Oakland County talent that could be in store for a big prep season.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='513265' first='Anna' last='Overway'], Plainwell: Overway made some waves last fall and steps into her junior year looking primed for a breakout season on the pins for Plainwell.

Division 2

1. [player_tooltip player_id='825043' first='Ella' last='Laskowski'], Edwardsburg: The Edwardsburg faithful showed out in this poll, as you can see. It was a tightly-contested race that Laskowski won by 2%. The versatile hitter has proven she can be just as dominant as any outside. She will be a feature of a potent offense.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='478074' first='Sarah' last='Pippin'], Edwardsburg: Pippin is a veteran outside that has put up big numbers for the Eddies and teams know they will have to do their part to slow her down if they hope to win.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='523844' first='Irelynn' last='Sedore'], Pennfield: A relentless junior defender, Sedore has the potential to rack up big dig numbers this fall. She shows the awareness and technique to be a lock-down defender.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='631464' first='Mya' last='Eberlein'], Edwardsburg: At 6'3”, Eberlein makes a big impact on the net with her attacks and blocking. She's a difference-maker at all times when she's on the court.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='502370' first='Sasha' last='Laramore-Josey'], Greenhills: A junior setter that also has a great defensive background, Laramore-Josey is going to give all she has to lead her team, which makes her a great POY candidate.

Division 3

1. [player_tooltip player_id='220968' first='Quinn' last='Yenshaw'], TC St. Francis: Yenshaw ran away with this poll and it's understandable why. She's got a lot of big-match experience, having led St. Francis to the D3 final the last two years. This 6-foot outside can do it all.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='525571' first='Cierra' last='Betson'], Unionville-Sebewaing: Betson is a dig machine and steps into her senior year looking to put up some of the best numbers in the state.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='222698' first='Ashton' last='Ehle'], Ovid-Elsie: Ehle can be a standout hitter on the outside, or a standout defender. She's even shown she can do both at the same time for the Marauders.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='535295' first='Paisley' last='Schumacher'], Beal City: A junior setter, Schumacher plays with a lot of grit and determination and is going to get the best out of her team.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='582308' first='Kendall' last='Michels'], Laingsburg: A junior setter that can also play on the outside, Michels will have a chance to shine in a talented conference with other-big name players in D3/D4.

Division 4

1. [player_tooltip player_id='464695' first='Gracie' last='Schultz'], Mendon: Mendon also showed out for these polls, landing three in the top five. Schultz is a senior outside that will be a leader of the offense for a talented D4 contender. She definitely could be the catalyst for a deep playoff run.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='724836' first='Addison' last='Weber'], Ubly: A sophomore outside/defender, Weber can shift momentum with her attacks or her ability to make a tough dig. This fall could be where she really raises her stock in D4.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='801985' first='Isabel' last='Rookard'], MP Sacred Heart: Rookard is going to be relied on heavily for SHA as a returning senior libero. She's already proven she can tally dozens of digs in a match, so don't be surprised if she's a top POY contender.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='462081' first='Jadyn' last='Samson'], Mendon: Samson is a senior libero for Mendon that has already caught the attention of many. She's proven to be one of the best defenders in D4, if not the state.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='732270' first='Cienna' last='Nightingale'], Mendon: Nightingale is a senior for Mendon that stands 6'0” and gives a lot of imposing height to the roster. She could be a big difference-maker this fall.
