Heavy-Hitting Right Sides at the Katy-Cypress Tournament

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school volleyball season has just started in Texas and weekday evenings in every corner of the Lone Star State are now filled with exciting matches, where the most talented prospects of the state will be able to compete and show what they are about.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first weeks of the new season are typically filled with tournaments, and one of the biggest and most competitive of them is set to take place this week. The Katy-Cypress Tournament reunites the top teams from two of the most competitive districts in the Houston area and beyond, attracting high school programs from other regions, such as Austin and San Antonio.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This year's edition of the tournament will feature as many as 48 varsity programs, which will compete between Thursday and Saturday in eight high school campuses in the area. Prep Dig Texas will be on-site following the action, but before it starts, we'd like to shortlist some players who will be in action in the tournament who have tremendous potential. A versatile and well-rounded player, she should split her time between playing on the right and the left in the upcoming season. The senior is an important offensive weapon for the team, having the power to make an impact at the net, but also thriving with her decision-making and stability. A senior, the left-handed right side hitter should carry a huge offensive load for the team this season, being their go-to scoring option throughout their campaign. Hoff has a wide variety of shots to put the ball down, combining solid firepower and superior technical skills, and she does a great job of picking from them to beat blockers and defenders. One of the team's tallest and most explosive players, she has been listed as a right side hitter in 2025, but played in all three positions at the net over the last few years and could change and adapt according to what the team needs. West is a talented offensive player, who has good size and physical tools, but also developed some interesting shots and tools to put the ball down from anywhere at the net. A senior, she established herself as the starting right side hitter over the last couple of years, but could appear in different positions this season - she can also play on the left and had a solid performance playing middle in their season opener. Parker is a very strong offensive player, who gets off the floor well and swings hard, but has a lot more to offer with her game. The senior is a key player in the team, splitting her time between setting and hitting duties on the right and thriving in both roles thanks to her excellent all-around game. Ribakovs does solid work with her ball-handling and is very good at splitting the load among her hitters. On offense, she is a tenacious hitter, who has a great deal of power and technical skills in her left arm, and can score on anyone consistently.
