Currently, the United States in particular and planet Earth in general, are enduring unprecedented circumstances.

Recreational activities have gone dormant as social distancing sweeps the nation with an all-encompassing regularity. Youth endeavors have been hit especially hard during this most trying of times and there’s no age group that hasn’t been effected.

Because of all this, when it comes to club volleyball, there’s only one way to see local athletes in action and that’s via an internet viewing platform. Luckily, the Mt. Morris Arsenal 17U Elite offer exactly that for some of its athletes through its website, Arsenalvbc.org, on Sportsrecruits.com.

While not every player in the program has footage available and some clips are more recent than others, Arsenal 17U Elite still has many valid examples of real talent that also has potential to grow. This includes…

RYLEIGH WRINKLE

No truer term could be used to describe this player than Setter. Wrinkle absolutely exemplifies what playing this position is all about. Whether it be with Grand Blanc during the high school season, where she’s a member of the class of 2021, or with Arsenal 17U Elite amidst club play, number 11 is the centerpiece to almost every offensive effort her team makes while she’s on the floor. The fact she 5-foot-9, also plays Outside/Right Side and maintains a very complimentary style of play that makes everyone around her look better doesn’t hurt, either.

ANNA SCHUTTE

Standing in at 5-foot-10 and playing Opposite/ Right Side, number 12 approaches the net aggressively and has true power on the spike. Schutte, who will graduate from Flushing High School in 2021, also has the ability to put the ball in the opposing backcourt with an effort best describe as relentless and follows every play through to the end.

HANNAH BEES

Living in Otisville, but playing for Millington High School as a member of the class of 2021, this Middle Blocker and Outside Hitter absolutely rises to the occasion defensively from the front row. While also listed as playing Opposite/Right Side, Bees is just as strong offensively from the left.

CHARITY DUNDAS

Being able to get low and cover distance on defense from both the front row and the back are just some of what this Setter from Lapeer High School does well. Offensively the way things revolve around number 55 is because of how sharp her skills are when it comes to maintaining a rally. Whether setting up a teammate for a spike or diving to keep hope alive, Dundas’s skill set is ever-growing.

SYDNEY JONES

Despite wearing number 11 for Davison High School, yet playing as number eight for Arsenal, let there be no confusion on what this member of the class of 2021 does well. This includes the tenacity to work from the front row on offense regardless of her distance from the net. From her position as an Outside Hitter Jones stands in at 5-foot-8 and has a true talent for finishing plays, as well.

OLIVIA NORMAN

At 6-foot-1 this Middle Blocker is a defensive nightmare for the opposition. Be it with one hand or two Norman’s penchant for stifling oncoming attacks is intense. Her long arms allow her to cover and claim a large amount of the court because of the reach she has. On the flip side this Lapeer High School member of the class of 2021 not only has quite the touch when necessary, but her ability to power through the other team’s defense is ever-improving.

While it’s anyone’s guess as to when Arsenal 17U Elite will be back in action, some of the other members of the team from the class of 2021 include Opposite/ Right Side Alex Widner, Brianna Gervers and Sally Borowski of Brandon High School. Also taking the court for this squad are Opposite/Right Side [player_tooltip player_id="89359" first="Karsyn" last="Delbridge"] and class of 2022 prospect Taryn Eckert.
