Mavs ran a two-setter system, and Stuart stood out to me with her play in the one match I saw. I thought her set placement set her apartment amongst some of the setters I saw. I thought she did a good job of going with what the defense was giving her, with quick sets to the outside. A high IQ play I saw was her not jumping on an overpass and just raising her hands slightly below the net, which led to still getting a touch and slowing down the attempted kill.

Let’s complete 15 Elite’s ball control “battery.” While Peterson has excelled as the team’s primary libero, Stuart has set the standard as MAVS’ elite singal-caller. The Blue Springs freshman has sharp, fluid jump sets that freeze middle blockers across the net. This led to some massive hitting windows at Show Me, allowing 15 Elite’s springy pin hitters to capitalize. We’ve also seen Stuart escalate her aggression as a frontcourt attacker to open up her team’s two-hitter rotations. It’s a full toolbox for yet another game-changing MAVS setter.
