Naomi continued a breakout year with a fantastic weekend in Utah. As she’s been picking up more and more advanced coaching, she’s been becoming more of a weapon every week. All weekend, she used that left-handed advantage to eat teams up from the RS. Going line, going cross, when she got that ball down, it was very rarely played. She had a day early in the tourney where she got to serve all day and didn’t miss a single serve all day, throwing off teams with the left-handed look, she racked up quite a few aces. At the net she had and contributed to some big blocks, including a sequence to win the Bronze bracket where she got point 24 with a big solo block, and then 25 by hammering home a cross shot on the next play. She’s a talent that teams in our area are going to have nightmares if they let her get away, I’m expecting a show at nationals and a big 18s year, which means even more interest. On a team running a 6-2 where they need two legit RS options, she’s been magnificent, and some school is going to scoop her up very soon.

She has shown some progress in her skill level to jump from 165 to 146 in the rankings. Her left handed swing is geared towards the right side. She also had a two inch growth spurt since our last ranking update. At 5’9 those couple inches of growth creates a more dynamic right side hitter, especially when you combine her 10 foot approach jump with her athleticism.
I first wrote about her back in January of 2024 when she played for South River. It took more than a year and a half for Jeremy to write about her exploits to remind me about her talents. She debuted in our rankings in December of 2025.
Northern reached the Maryland Class 3 state quarter finals before a sweep by Reservoir ended their season. Maryland Juniors 17 fell short of capturing a junior national bid, finishing seventh in the Chesapeake Regional Bid Championships. She needs a big event to highlight her skills.

She plays right side. Her left handed swing stands out as a reason for that. While her 5’9″ height is undersized for a right side the ability to approach jump a little over the 10 foot mark makes up for that.
Only recently did she find her name in our rankings. When those rankings came out her listed height showed at 5’7″. Two inches of growth to 5’9″ has occurred since then. A couple more inches of growth would make her a legit right side for Division I school standards.
She plays for Northern, who lost early to Reservoir in their Maryland Class 3 playoff run. A switch from South River Volleyball Club (SRVC) to Maryland Juniors could put more eyes on her.
She reminds me a lot of the 5’10”

Seems to me that the RS is getting pretty deep around here. Naomi has been on my radar for years, I was just looking for a good time to feature her, and now that a bunch of coaches got a good view of her this weekend, seems like a good time for it. Naomi is a little shorter than the other girls so far, she’s in that tweener build I reference a lot, but like I say all the time, height is only one component, and seeing that she touches 10 foot with her vertical and has good wing span, that should take care of some of those complaints. Did I mention that she’s a lefty? Oh yeah, there’s that, where teams consistently line up for the block, only to realize too late they are in the wrong spot as the ball goes inside and not outside the block. All weekend long Naomi was dropping some powerful shots on opponents, 10 foot line, back corner, line, cross, she used it all. Now that you all know who she is, you’re going to hear a lot more about her, that athleticism and power is going to draw a lot of college interest.
