In many cases, middle schoolers have put in the time and earn their way onto varsity teams as young as the seventh grade. She takes solid swings out of amazing tandems. She puts down overpassed balls quickly and has a good vertical jump to record effective blocks. She'll only improve in the spring playing for the top-notch K2 15 Elite team. Bennett had 94 kills for the Colonels in the fall, helping them go 35-6, win another 50th District crown and a fourth straight 13th Region title.

Seymour does a great job sending balls to all six zones on ones to make defensive specialists move. Seymour can pound balls to the back row on one play then tip balls on the next one. Seymour is also a sound one-on-one blocker combining her size and athleticism to create a sound vertical jump. Seymour had 147 kills and 47 solo blocks for the Cats in the fall.

Keller stepped into the libero role and excelled on first touches for the Blazers in the fall. Keller is consistent with the simple passes often getting University Heights into a good rhythm. She only lunges when needed, but still stays under control. Keller adds in a deceptive serve to different parts of the court. Keller had 435 digs and 85 aces for University Heights in the fall.

Booth gives the Wildcats a sound passer to build around for years. Booth owns the back for Trigg County. She beats balls to their spots then uses a good platform to make consistent two to three-point passes. Booth is also a solid server, Booth had 248 digs and 46 aces for Trigg County this past fall

Note from the Writer

Mike Graham has been writing for Prep Dig for nearly two years and has enjoyed getting to know the volleyball scenes in both Kentucky and Ohio. In many cases, middle schoolers have put in the time and earn their way onto varsity teams as young as the seventh grade. However, some often get pulled up to build for the future if the team is struggling. These four are ones to see in the fall if not during club season.
