2026 Club Team Preview: Salty Volleyball Club 15U

The goal is highlighting as many teams as possible before we get the season underway next month. The organization practices in gyms throughout the region, providing a high-level opportunity in the sport for that part of the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Its two oldest groups should be formidable in 2026 with much of their rosters intact from a successful maiden voyage last season. The 15U squad also will be one to watch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Boyden-Hull High provides two of its top performers to the Salty 15s. [player_tooltip player_id='924879' first='Anna' last='Van Middendorp'] started all 34 of the Comets' matches in the back row, coming up with 181 digs. Her classmate, [player_tooltip player_id='924878' first='Jaelyn' last='De Jongh'], produced 124 kills, 63 digs and 10.0 blocks as a ninth-grader with a wide array of skills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='924877' first='Braleigh' last='Cleveringa'] and [player_tooltip player_id='924881' first='Emmaleigh' last='Oldenkamp'] were part of a strong MOC-Floyd program this year. The freshmen developed their games on the school's junior varsity throughout the campaign. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='924876' first='Breckan' last='Boyd'] saw a little bit of time on the Rock Valley varsity as a freshman in 2025. The versatile front-row performer worked on getting better for the program's junior varsity throughout the season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Setter [player_tooltip player_id='924880' first='Aubren' last='Moerman'] put in time to climb the ladder in one of the state's top programs this fall. The freshman operated on the Western Christian junior varsity.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Unity Christian advanced all the way to the regional finals before losing a heartbreaking five-set decision to Kuemper Catholic. [player_tooltip player_id='924882' first='Sophia' last='Plasier'] was working her way up through the strong program by operating on the junior varsity. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sioux Center powered its way to the Class 4A state championship match, where it lost to North Scott. The Warriors have built a sound outfit through strong development, which included [player_tooltip player_id='924885' first='Kaelyn' last='Schmidt'], one of only three freshmen on the junior varsity. [player_tooltip player_id='924887' first='Taylor' last='Stellinga'] broke into prep action as a freshman on Sheldon's junior varsity. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Salty will challenge itself against a difficult schedule. Dates include the Big City Luau in Rochester (MN) in January, the President's Day Classic in Omaha, the Prep Dig Spikefest in the Twin Cities and the Iowa Regional Qualifier in March, and the Show Me National Qualifier in Kansas City in April. The schedule was tentative at the time of publication. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
