The first adjective that came to mind while watching Hiner was “explosive.” At 5-foot-8, that’s a trait shared by many undersized pin hitters who have found success at the next level. She elevates quickly, attacks with power, and has the ability to swing through or over a block despite giving up height. That explosiveness was on full display throughout the day and is a big reason why the standout from Andale is such an effective attacker.

Hiner is another name that climbed our latest set of 2029 rankings, and she might be due for another bump after Sunday’s performance. If you’re looking for a springy outside hitter who can pop off the floor, Hiner fills that niche perfectly. She was an incredibly effective out-of-system terminator during scrimmages, using her explosive step-close to get on top of the ball. But Hiner’s best moments came while she was in rhythm and could drive through the ball with her forward momentum. This KNVBC standout will find any way to terminate.

Hiner was solid in her debut high school season for Garden Plain last fall. Defensively, she has already shown she can be reliable, which is evident playing DS for her club team. Offensively is where I’m most interested in watching her this weekend. I want to see the variety of shots she has in her toolbox and how effectively she can find different ways to score against a talented field.

It’s showtime. Hiner’s preeminence in the 2029 rankings goes far beyond her work with KNVBC 15 Showtime. She also delivered a triple-digit kill total for Garden Plain last fall, starting her stock-riser argument earlier than most. She continued to light up the front row for 15 Showtime and displayed her aptitude on both sides of the setter. It’s the perfect setup for subsequent gains in our next updates.

We have one more from the 15 Liberty field. Hiner and her KNVBC 15 Showtime crew battled through a rigorous schedule in Kansas City and added to the Heart of America’s depth in this age group. The Garden Plain freshman was already on our radar after posting a triple-digit kill total with the Owls last fall. Homer has maintained that influence on the club side while blending some exceptional ball handling into her all-around game. This is an outside hitter worthy of the “showtime” moniker.
