Stepping into a new program this year always has its challenges, but Zoe Ruiz is already making her presence known.

Zoe is a fun player to watch live, bringing quickness and versatility to the back row. Her experience as an outside hitter early on in her volleyball journey has helped make her a well-rounded player, which has also aided her transition to libero.

She reads in-system attacks well, gets to the ball quickly, and can make an impact from any defensive position. From behind the line, Zoe features a strong, solid float serve that adds another layer to her game. She is consistently putting pressure on the opponent and forcing hitters out of system.

Over the past year, I’ve seen her improve how she moves through the ball, staying low and letting the ball travel instead of reaching. Her platform stays firm, and she does a good job absorbing pace and keeping passes controlled.
