Charge 17 UA Tulsa

The East side of the state/Tulsa had their best showing in years, winning 3 divisions in 2026. Charge 17 UA Tulsa entered the tournament as the 2nd overall seed, and after a slow start and dropping 1 set against Charge National, went on to dominate the rest of the day including a tough finals win over Peak 17-1 Elite. Here are 5 key players Charge 17 UA Tulsa relied on the most when it counted:

[player_tooltip player_id='749276' first='Addie' last='Ray'] – S/RS, Charge 17 UA Tulsa

Charge 17 UA Tulsa's foundation of success is built around their all-star setter/right side tandem. Arguably the lesser known of the two, Addie is making a name for herself in her own right, with her ascension over the last 2 seasons. Ray is a devasting hitter and blocker as a right side. She does a great job of putting pressure on opposing outside hitters with her quick feet and excellent press over the net. As a hitter, she hits with tremendous power at every angle. She is very comfortable going line- arguably her favorite shot, which makes her very to defend. As a setter she is big and athletic, using her upper body strength to make even the longest and most difficult sets look easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='297123' first='Ana' last='Appel'] – S/RS, Charge 17 UA Tulsa

Another stellar performance this weekend from the other half of Charge's two-headed monster at the setter/right side position. Where Addie wins on brute strength, Appel excels with refined technique- especially on the setting side of the equation. Ana shows incredibly high volleyball IQ in everything she does- knowing how to orchestrate the offense to perfection. She knows which hitter is hot, who to rely on in crunch time, and when to take matters into her own hands with a setter attack. She is an elite all-around player with no weakness in her game- contributing in literally every phase- setting, serve receive, blocking, defense, and serving. To top it off, she is the unquestioned leader of the team, which was on full display in the final match.

[player_tooltip player_id='740630' first='Evelyn' last='Goodwin'] – L, Charge 17 UA Tulsa

Evelyn stepped up in a big way on Saturday, transitioning from her normal OH and DS role into the libero position, when Charge's usual libero was unavailable due to illness. This transition really allowed Evelyn to lean on the strength's in her game. Even as an outside hitter, Evelyn really excels as a passer in serve receive and a defensive player. She was steady in serve receive and came up with several key defensive plays throughout the day. Even on the biggest stage, her team didn't miss a beat with Goodwin in the opposite colored jersey. This could this be a preview of what Evelyn's game and position looks like at the collegiate level.

[player_tooltip player_id='756449' first='Faizah' last='Omotayo'] – MB, Charge 17 UA Tulsa

Faizah has really found a home at the middle blocker position over the past 2 seasons. As a middle blocker she is really able to utilize her quickness and top tier athleticism, as well as her heavy arm swing. She is the epitome of ‘making it look easy', as she seemingly effortlessly patrols the length of the net, and elevates quickly to put up a huge block. Despite the talent at the pin hitter position- Omotayo still found ways to contribute offensively as well. She delivered several highlight kills, particularly when turning the ball to zone 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='752758' first='Aryn' last='Gammill'] – OH, Charge 17 UA Tulsa

Newcomer to the team this year, Aryn has added to the already deep pin hitter position for Charge 17 UA Tulsa. She has quickly earned a role for herself this season, as a steady and reliable contributor on the outside. Her big game experience, having been a key player in several high pressure post season games at Cascia Hall, really helped keep the team's serve receive steady, even while utilizing a new libero. She was efficient and made smart decisions at a hitter on the outside- really understanding when to keep the ball in play, and when to go for the kill shot.
