Our teams have already been tested this season at several National Qualifiers. This week, the focus is on the blockers. These athletes work the tape with discipline, timing, and an edge that shifts momentum. She reads well, sets a strong right-side block, and even took away a setter line attack. Caryl plays with systematic discipline while using her speed to score around and over opposing blocks. Afton Holden brings versatility to the front row, impacting the game in multiple skill sets. As a utility player, she scores with intention, targeting open spaces and making smart offensive decisions. At the net, she consistently earns positive block touches, giving her defense opportunities to convert deflections into points. What stands out is her ability to stay engaged throughout the entire rally, contributing strong front-row defensive touches before seamlessly transitioning into an attacking option.
