Union 15 Blue, Kentucky White Regional Team Overviews

A number of these players could step into important roles in the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Blue</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cara Bulington has coached this team to a 25-16 record with two high finishes. The team won the 15 Black Union Classic and finished runner-up out of 64 teams in the Nike Mideast Qualifier in St. Louis in the 15 Select group.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mercy freshman [player_tooltip player_id='850776' first='Aubree' last='Goff'] and Tenley Clark are the defensive specialists. Karter Fannin and Ella Szabo play setter with Szabo also playing right side hitter. Madisyn Dreyer and Molly Osborne plays on the outside with Rock Creek Academy freshman [player_tooltip player_id='956272' first='Lottie' last='Schiller'] playing right side hitter. The team has three middle blockers in Floyd Central (Indiana) freshman [player_tooltip player_id='956038' first='Grace' last='Miller'], Brownstown Central freshman Abbie Watson and Isabella Cox.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team next plays in the Junior Volleyball Association World Challenge in Louisville from April 10 to 12.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kentucky White</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Richard Hans coaches this team that is 9-12 on the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carroll County freshman Brookie Hicks and Jeffersontown freshman Kenidee Sandusky play defensive specialist roles with Holy Cross (Louisville) sophomore Riley Britz setting. North Oldham freshman Ava Smith and South Oldham freshman Grace Statton are listed as utility players and the other four are outsides. She makes plays from the middle and the pins. Schiller pounds down overpassed balls hard. Schiller does not get frustrated if first hits do not fall. She forms walls around balls to make nice passes. She can also make plays from the pins and middle. But Hicks gained some valuable experience playing in 11 games on varsity this season. Hicks is finding different ways to control things in the back row. She steps toward balls and plants her feet to make crisp passes.
