Two Key Players from Three Remaining Dominant Five Teams

The Sacred Heart Valkyries and St. Henry Crusaders last made the state tournament in 2021 and they have two each. Teams need to win one of 16 regions to make the state tournament. Sacred Heart is in the 7th Region with Assumption and St. Henry is in the 9th Region with Notre Dame. Lee (pictured) does not go up there swinging hard each time. She understands situations and makes good decisions not just where but how hard to swing each time she enters her attack approach. Lee smashes balls into holes of double blocks and into seams. Lee uses her size to leap up before double blocks form. She can tools blocks and mixes in off shots to the back row. Lee tips balls to four zones on slides and pounds hard balls toward side lines. Codey has polished her roll shots and can execute four-to-four cut shots with her off (left) hand. Codey takes hard line swings and sends over tough crosses. Codey has a hard wrist snap to pound balls with a nice downward trajectory. Codey attacks seams with precision. Her quick footwork and attack approach lets her make good in-air adjustments to tool blocks. Her defensive presence is also improved this season. She makes the simple passes and leans to balls then squares her arms with them under control. Derringer tools blocks on ones and does a great job getting on top of balls and smack powerful shots. Derringer's quick arm swing is tough for opponents to deal with. Randol runs offenses with precision using quick feet to get in ready position and survey the defense before making the set. Randol does not lock her arms. She uses a nice jump set to get extra precision on her sets. Osterkamp has brought more pep in steps before pushing balls toward hitters. Osterkamp also has quicker touches so hitters can get up before blocks form. Osterkamp has even done a better job reading defenses. She slows up then puts over quality roll shots. Redlinger tools blocks on nines and delivers nice off shots to back row. Redlinger has a great wrist snap.
