2029 Liberos Anchoring the Defense

This group of liberos from Washington, Oregon, and, yes, Idaho all share several wonderful attributes. Cat quick, hard-working, passing wizards who all make the team better around them. It's all floor burns and bruises with these six; they are the backbone of their teams' defense and help set the tone for the grit and toughness of their squads.    Baron is well-trained; the 2029 libero prospect for Excel NW has the skills to make it happen in serve receive, defense, and as an accurate setter when she takes the second ball. The Ridgefield freshman stays low and works her platform early and away from her body when she is in serve receive- her recognition and foot speed help her handle challenging short serves. Baron can deliver hittable balls from her platform to both pins with confidence, from a distance, and either toward or away from the pin she is facing.      Kinsman has a terrific motor; she consistently covers her hitters and tracks down tips and deflections outside her immediate area. The 2029 prospect from Sehome High School has a solid serve, delivered with pace, keeping opposing offenses struggling to stay in the system. Kinsman always works hard and plays with all-out effort when she is on the court.     Araujo is a calm presence on the back line for WVBA 15 Adidas. Her team can count on the libero from The Bear School to do her job and keep the team rolling. Arujo moves smoothly around the court and reads the action; she doesn't always need to be in a hurry because of her recognition, but she has the wheels and toughness to go into the bleachers and chase down a ball when needed.     Fisher takes smart angles to the ball as a passer defensively and in serve receive. The multi-spot athlete from Curtis High School is willing and able to make a strong move to better the ball when it's in the seam between her and a teammate. Fisher has been a contributor on a PSVBA 15 Legacy team who have played a very competitive national schedule this season.     Dickau can go and get it from the libero position; she is quick, coordinated, and, most importantly, relentless. The Mt. Spokane freshman works hard at her craft and shows the willingness to make an emergency move, saving a point for her team with a creative dig. Dickau and her CPA 15 Benson team earned a solid 5th place finish in the USA Division at PNQ, and will look to improve that finish at the Salt Lake City Showdown.        Forsyth is having an excellent season with NPJ Salem- the Marist Catholic libero has an excellent touch in serve receive and gets on the floor when she needs to make a play and keep a rally alive. Forsyth has a smooth run-through in her game, and she can break out a pancake dig with either hand when she has to get just a little extra length to make a save. She is a defender to watch in the Oregon 2029 class as her career progresses.      Harper plays libero for Lewis Clark Volleyball Club out of Lewiston, Idaho. The 16 National team is having an excellent season, and the libero from Salmon River High School is the only 2029 prospect playing up on the roster. Harper is strong and confident, playing with terrific positioning and all-out hustle on every play. She is the defensive rock for LCVBC, and the team finished second in the 16 Club Division at the Fiesta Festival and 5th overall in the 16 American Division at PNQ.
