About Giulianna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style of play is aggressive, smart and high energy. I am an explosive athlete with a great swing and powerful arm. I have great court awareness and have the ability to adjust to my sets to get a kill. I am a complete 6 rotation player with the ability to pass, serve, dig, and hit.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very positive and energetic person who thrives on positive energy. I love cheering on my teammates when they make a great play and I am there for them when they need me. Mental attitude is a major component of my game and I work on it daily. Visualization and positive thoughts are a must. That’s why I love volleyball so much!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer at my church on a regular basis and we do multiple community events throughout the year. These events include food pantry and helping the homeless and other people in need.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I do community service through my church. I have developed social and communication skills by working as a cashier at a local restaurant. I have also developed leaderships skills when I was named captain of my school volleyball team. As my teammates looked to me as an example.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have only been playing for 3 years and was a middle. I wanted to play a different position but didn’t know how. So I worked hard and asked my coaches for help and was able to not only play OH/RS but I moved up to Skyhigh’s Jo program and was the only girl to do that from my regional age group in my club. I was very proud of that and it showed me that hard work and mental focus pays off.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that allows me to play the most competitive volleyball I can. I really want to go to a big division one school in warm weather. The school also has to be a good fit for my education goals also.
