The college recruiting window is open for the class of 2022 players and in the fall they will be expected to step up into leadership roles for their teams. Here is a look at the players over 6’ tall that made the 2022 Prepdig.com watch list for the conference. The players are sorted by school and their order in this article is no indication of rank. Ranking for the class of 2022 will be available in the fall after tryouts.

[player_tooltip player_id="97163" first="Haley" last="Smith"], 6’ 0", middle hitter/outside hitter, Mead
Smith was added to the Mead varsity roster for the playoffs in 2019 as a middle and outside hitter. That experience will help her compete for a larger role in 2020.

[player_tooltip player_id="97164" first="Emily" last="Hutchinson"], 6’ 2", middle hitter, Mead
Hutchinson was a contributor during Mead’s playoff run this year. It should be a natural progression to see her become a leader in the offense in 2020.

[player_tooltip player_id="97172" first="Kylee" last="Johnson"], 6’ 0", middle hitter, University
Johnson played 19 sets and tallied 18 kills with a .164 hitting % in 2019. While not inspiring, those numbers show that she has the potential to move into a bigger role with the team that graduated eight hitters after the 2019 campaign.

With a seemingly undersized 2022 class coming into their stride for the Greater Spokane Conference, these three athletes will be worth watching to see if they can step into leadership roles and develop into top prospects during their junior year.
