Wave Volleyball Club 17-Tsunami Look-in

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The [program_tooltip program_id='989243' first='Wave' last='Volleyball Club'] in Louisville formed with the idea of playing travel volleyball at reduced costs. The club fielded three teams in its first season last spring, but has 11 this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club also runs a short season in the fall for players that did not make their high school or middle school teams. The club saw 25 players come out last fall for it and 40 to 50 could come out this next fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 17-1 Tsunami team has played in the Club Division at some national tournaments. The team has finished runner-up in two tournaments. The head coach is Elizabeth Moore.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bullitt East sophomore outside [player_tooltip player_id='612015' first='Juliana' last='Edwards'] leads the way with Male junior [player_tooltip player_id='804467' first='Alyson' last='Skrine'] also taking swings from there. Male junior Skye Whitfield plays on the outside and defensive specialist with Assumption junior Maggie Reddington playing middle blocker and Male junior Jayde Pugh playing middle blocker and outside hitter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='805287' first='Eliza' last='Georgel'] and junior defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='946249' first='Trinity' last='Short'] two other Male players on the tean, trying to help the Bulldogs improve on last year's 14-16 record. Male lost in the 7th Region quarterfinals for the fourth year in a row. Male junior Paisley Wilding has handled the setting duties in the 5-1 offense. Edwards takes a good five-step approach and gets on top of balls to hit balls with a sound downward trajectory. Edwards hits around and even off double blocks. Edwards takes quality out of system swings and tips balls to the back row from the middle. Skrine showed potential in the fall. Skrine makes nice passes in the back row, squaring her body up to balls. Short backs up and makes the simple passes. She steps to balls then follows through to get Male into a nice offensive rhythm.
