It's time for Nebraska's combo feature.

Over on the Kansas-Missouri beat, we just highlighted a handful of must-see club tandems from the Heart of America Region's Class of 2028. It's a new twist on our journey to feature as many rising juniors as possible before this summer's recruiting flurry begins.

We had a lot of fun with this perspective, so why not bring it to the Cornhusker State? Nebraska's 2028s have exhibited so much growth and development through this year's club gauntlet, and burgeoning connections have paved the way. "Double trouble" is a serious movement in the Great Plains Region.

Let's bring out a few of our favorites.

[player_tooltip player_id='774611' first='Lindyn' last='Stutzman'] and Meredith Masters - [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black

We're starting with two of the unsung heroes of [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black's breakout 2026 campaign.

16 Black looked like one of those teams that could make a big jump after some qualifier near-misses a year ago. That prophecy came true in Minneapolis, where 16 Black earned its elusive GJNC berth at the Northern Lights Qualifier.

Stutzman and Masters have been perfect fits for VCNebraska's dynamic, ever-changing lineup. The lineup is stacked with versatile terminators like Masters, who has showed out on both pins for 16 Black. Her willingness to compete on either side of the setter has set her apart during late-season competitions.

Stutzman is one of those setters who deserves a lot of credit for holding the crew together. She can instantly adapt to frontcourt changes and will strengthen her connections under any circumstances.

Pressure will ramp up at GJNC, but Stutzman and Masters are ready for anything.

[player_tooltip player_id='572563' first='Hailey' last='Hoff'] and [player_tooltip player_id='570568' first='Kaitlyn' last='Staehr'] - South Central NE 16 Black

What else can we say about the Aurora duo?

This connection transcends club competition. Hoff and Staehr have helped Aurora High School rocket to prominence on Nebraska's small-town prep scene. Hoff nearly topped the state's assist leaderboards last fall, and Staehr was her favorite target in the lineup.

Productivity has never waned with South Central NE. This duo combined to reach the GJNC podium last fall, and 2026 could bring more of the same. Staehr was a dominant attacking force during 16 Black's title run at Show Me. Hoff was the stabilizing setter who elevated South Central to a 16 National bid through the Great Plains Region.

These Huskies keep reaching higher.

Jenna Ferris and [player_tooltip player_id='753332' first='Taylor' last='Tresemer'] - [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 16 Navy

[program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] gets on the board with its familiar combination of ball control and high-level heat.

16 Navy has made waves on the recent JVA circuit, setting up for next month's major test at AAU Nationals. Ferris and Tresemer are eager to uphold that River City tradition of postseason success.

Ferris has embraced the challenge of working with 16 Navy's deep attacking corps. Each of these hitters performs best with different sets, and Ferris has worked on these varying connections throughout the spring. Her link with Tresemer has been particularly strong, as this six-rotation left-side hitter has proven she can score from anywhere.

Look for this under-the-radar unit to add to the narrative before the high school season ramps up.

[player_tooltip player_id='959026' first='Eleanor' last='McNally'] and [player_tooltip player_id='743475' first='Tatyanah' last='Linnen']

Let's bring some setter-middle firepower into the mix.

Nebraska Elite 16 Alpha has been in the late-season conversation after the team's westward trip to the Salt Lake City Showdown. This unique qualifier venue provided a valuable litmus test for how much 16 Alpha's connections have evolved throughout the spring. The team featured plenty of new stars this year, but McNally and Linnen have been exceptional returning commodities.

This pair ensures that two-hitter rotations remain a strength of the 16 Alpha rotation. Linnen is a game-changer at the M1 spot and is fully accustomed to swinging over the top of double blocks. Opposing teams commit to slowing her down, but she still comes through.

McNally has a knack for mixing up her sets to put Linnen in positions to succeed. The Omaha Duchesne standout has been a staple of 16 Alpha's 5-1 system and showcases amazing blocking chemistry alongside Linnen.

Summer momentum is on the rise for this Omaha combo.

[player_tooltip player_id='575240' first='Quinn' last='Krejci'] and [player_tooltip player_id='576522' first='Carley' last='Jorczak'] - Premier Nebraska 16 Red

Premier Nebraska has given us no shortage of 2028 duos to highlight this year. The club's top three 16s lineups secured GJNC bids on the qualifier trail, so we have a deep cast of characters to choose from.

Krejci and Jorczak swiped a bit of that spotlight after 16 Red's runner-up finish at the Show Me Qualifier. The team levied some serious frontcourt haymakers behind Krejci's crisp, predictable location from pin to pin. Jorczak was one of many hitters who capitalized while showing her full arsenal as a go-to left-side hitter. Even in out-of-system situations, Jorczak's aggression and contact point sent a message. It also helped to have Krejci defending the right-back area to keep many of these scramble plays alive in the first place.

Cooperation will reign supreme again at USAV Nationals.
