That kind of run takes more than talent. It takes maturity, trust, chemistry, and players who know how to respond when momentum shifts inside big matches.

Now the challenge changes.

Dakota Valley is no longer the team trying to surprise people. They are the team everyone will be circling on the schedule this fall.

And honestly, I think this roster is built to handle that pressure.

The Panthers return a senior-heavy lineup loaded with experience, leadership, and players who already understand what postseason volleyball feels like under the brightest lights. That matters once October arrives. There is confidence in groups that have already survived difficult moments together, and this team has plenty of that returning to the floor.

What excites me most heading into the summer is how balanced this lineup feels. Dakota Valley has defenders who can steady the court, attackers that can create pressure from multiple spots, and veteran leadership running the offense. If anything, last season may have raised the standard inside that gym even higher.

[player_tooltip player_id='730569' first='Madie' last='Munch'] enters the season as the top setter in the state and it is easy to understand why once you watch her control a match. Everything offensively starts with her decision making. She sees blockers early, understands tempo, and consistently puts hitters in situations where they can attack confidently. Even when the first pass drifts off target, she finds ways to keep the offense moving without looking rushed. That is a huge separator.

What I really enjoy about Madie's game is how she manages the flow of matches. She knows when to speed teams up, when to spread the offense, and when to settle things down. Dakota Valley's attackers trust her completely and that connection shows up throughout long rallies and pressure moments.

[player_tooltip player_id='446330' first='Coryn' last='Kimbell'] is one of the biggest reasons Dakota Valley can play aggressively offensively. Her first contact quality consistently keeps the Panthers in system and allows the offense to stay balanced. She stays low defensively, absorbs pace well, and does a great job reading hitters before contact is even made.

There are defenders that simply keep the ball alive and then there are defenders that change momentum with effort plays. Coryn fits the second category. She brings toughness and consistency that championship teams need in the backcourt.

Ava Redstone brings calmness to the floor and that becomes incredibly valuable during high-pressure stretches. She does not overreact defensively and trusts her platform positioning against tough servers. You can tell she understands angles and ball control because of how clean her touches stay under pressure.

She is the type of player that helps steady a lineup when matches start getting emotional or chaotic.

Samantha Swick competes with an edge that immediately stands out. She may not be the biggest player on the floor, but she plays fearless defensively and refuses to give away easy points. She reacts quickly, covers ground well, and consistently extends rallies with hustle plays that energize teammates around her.

Dakota Valley's defensive identity fits Samantha perfectly because she embraces the gritty side of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='488558' first='Skylar' last='Anderson'] is going to be a major factor again this season at the net. She closes blocks well, moves laterally with control, and stays active offensively instead of drifting out of plays. One thing I noticed is how well she tracks hitters and times her movements defensively.

Middles who can impact both offense and blocking assignments become difficult to game plan around late in the season, and Skylar gives Dakota Valley exactly that type of presence.

Addison Bradshaw gives Dakota Valley the ability to stay aggressive in different rotations without losing stability defensively. Whether she is helping settle the backcourt or contributing offensively from the right side, she finds ways to impact the flow of matches.

She also brings noticeable energy to the floor. You can feel momentum shift when she starts making plays in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='829797' first='Aubree' last='Worden'] gives the Panthers a physical right-side presence that can create difficult matchups offensively. Even during extended rallies, Aubree continues calling for swings and putting pressure on blockers. That aggressiveness matters.

With experienced ball control surrounding her, Aubree has the ability to become one of the bigger offensive pressure points on this roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='932672' first='Taylor' last='Pearman'] brings balance to the outside position. She handles serve receive responsibilities well while still finding ways to stay effective offensively. Instead of forcing swings into set defenses, she works the court smartly and keeps pressure on opposing teams through shot selection and consistency.

Players that quietly contribute in multiple phases often become some of the most valuable pieces on championship-caliber teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='745859' first='Taylor' last='Piel'] gives Dakota Valley another physical front-row option capable of impacting the match in different ways. Whether she is contributing offensively or helping control space at the net defensively, she adds important depth to this lineup.

I also like the competitive edge she brings around the net. She battles through long points and stays engaged from rally start to finish.

Brenna Johnson may still be one of the younger players in the lineup, but she already looks comfortable competing at the varsity level. She attacks with confidence and does not appear overwhelmed by the speed of the game. You can tell the moment does not feel too big for her.

As she continues gaining experience, Brenna has the ability to become another strong offensive piece for Dakota Valley moving forward.

Remy Probasco gives Dakota Valley another athlete capable of contributing in multiple roles. Having the ability to move between the middle and outside gives this lineup different looks depending on matchups.

She moves well laterally, competes hard in transition, and brings athleticism that helps extend plays on both sides of the ball.

Tinsley Sorensen is one of the younger names that adds excitement to the future of this program. There is confidence in the way she swings and competes offensively, and you can already see the upside developing.

The nice part for Dakota Valley is younger players like Tinsley get to develop inside a veteran-led environment. That usually speeds up growth quickly.

Dakota Valley understands what championship expectations feel like now. That changes the way programs carry themselves entering a season. The Panthers return leadership, experience, defensive toughness, and one of the top setters in the region running the offense.

The target will absolutely be on their back this fall.

The bigger question may be whether anyone is ready to knock them off.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

In Case You Missed It
