It is finally here! 15s Divisions at this years Girls Junior National Championships take the court tomorrow and the volleyball world cannot be more ready. Over the past few weeks I have gone over different players in different positions to see in competition and I am finishing out the series with 15u Ds/Liberos to see this weekend. A true Volleyballer knows the play starts with a pass, so it's only right we shout out our defensive queens to open up play. Here are five 2029 DS to keep an eye out for heading into pool play.

If you had not got the chance to see Ds/Liberos from the upper classes that will be competing in Indy, go check them out and be on the lookout for post pool follow ups.

Kinsey Dean, talk about a defensive dawg! A Ds/L for Excel 15N Red that will not give up on the play. She brings fire and energy to the court, constantly being an encouraging presence for her team every single play. She hustles, she controls her pass, and is not afraid of taking the setter-out ball. Keeping her teams energy up and playing with intensity, is no doubt a super power for Kinsey, and is undoubtedly what makes her hard to miss.

Ava Williams, Ds/L for Skyline 15 Royal David inhibits all there is to know about poise and controlled play. She runs a smooth defense and always takes her feet to the ball first, ensuring a clean pass. Her play exemplifies what can only be consistent training done right. Ava, reads and reacts with no hesitation and trusts her ability to make the play happen. Competing at a high level and having the confidence in her teammates to match pace will be a sight to see going into Open play.

Keian Ledesma, Ds/L for HJV 15 Elite. She plays with grit and communicates like the game depends on it. Doing the little things to ensure her team knows where to be the play is running at top speed. She has clean and controlled pass, covers her hitters with intent, and does not stop until the ball is dead. This kind of hustle and tenacity on the court is the key to winning games and Keian has it figured out! HJV knows defense and Keian runs it to perfection.
