There’s little doubt about this one. If 1st Alliance 16 Gold had triumphed over Arizona Storm in the 16 Open championship match, Vander Wal would have been crowned the MVP. Vander Wal dominated at GJNC in the same manner she had at NLQ, Windy City, and so many other events across the club volleyball landscape. The Texas commit has only elevated her game since we named her one of the top overall players in the Class of 2025.

Vander Wal has elevated her game to astonishing new heights this year. Sure, we knew she was an elite attacker when she helped 1st Alliance win a 15U title at 2022’s Triple Crown NIT. But 2023 has offered a revamped version of Vander Wal who has firmly established herself among the nation’s best. She’s incredibly coordinated for someone of her height and brings an unmatched repertoire of backcourt attacks. 1st Alliance 16 Gold will be a GJNC frontrunner with Vander Wal leading the charge.

Vander Wal is a force and she is sure to be getting some calls on June 15th. She has a really high contact and hits the ball hard over most blockers. Vander Wal take a big swing and also has a nice controlled pass in serve receive.

Abby is currently training with the USAV training roster for the U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup. She is explosive, consistent, and incredibly efficient. Abby is the type of athlete who when you see her play makes you stop and think “wow.” She will only continue to impress as the end of the season nears.

She made all tournament team at USAV GJNC 15 Open last season and has participated in several National Team Development Program camps. On the court Abby is explosive and efficient. She is simply impressive to watch. Her high volleyball IQ and elite level play makes her a top recruit and a lethal opponent.

Abby is a lethal pin hitter who impressed on a national level at Central Zone. 1st Alliance came in ranked #1 in the 16 Open and walked away with gold medals around their necks. Abby was a key piece of their offense and defense in their 8-0 weekend. She is one of the top athletes in her class. Abby fires on all cylinders in all six rotations and is an offensive weapon in the front and back row.
