About Abigail

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very verbal and loud. Anytime someone does good, I'm always there to cheer them on. When we're down, I always try with my best effort to bring everyone back up.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm usually hard on myself when I know I can do better, but I'm also mindful that not everyday or every practice or game will go how I want it to go. I am very open to everything and I feel as I try to handle situations in a positive manner.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At school, I am enrolled in many AP classes, as well as our JumpStart program that I start next year, which will help me graduate with my Associate degree.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through all my years of playing volleyball, I've come across many different teammates and built many friendships. Everyone is different and communicates in different ways, so I've learned to always be a better teammate than player. I've always been told to be the leader, so my goal is to lead my team and help them when possible.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

When I was introduced to the sport of volleyball, I felt as I was always disappointed with how I was treated and how I played. I've had a few bumps along the road with coaches, but I'm always optimistic and try to see the best possible outcome for why I couldn't get the advice I wanted. Many coaches have told me I've been very coachable, so I always try my best to communicate with my coaches.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm striving for a D1 College that can help me improve my love for the game. I feel as I can push myself and work hard to achieve my dreams. Currently, I am super interested in playing at Arizona State University.
