About Abigail

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an aggressive and active setter. I play within my coaches system but I do my best to defend when needed. I try not to to have a free ball so I work to make the set when possible. I LOVE volleyball and enjoy playing it with a passion and I believe it shows. My coaches encourage me to dump the ball when I see the opportunity as well. So I enjoy being a threat to score on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am enjoying my high school life and every aspect of being a teenager. I find friends wherever I go and I have been told that I invite people into my life. I want to win at whatever I do, in school and on the court. I work on getting better at everything I do and look forward to challenges.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received academic awards each of my first 2 years of high school and am a volunteer with the school to assist with programs the school runs such as golf tournaments to raise money. My family and I also volunteer with a food mission that provides food supplies for those in need.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I believe all the activities I do from sports to friendships and volunteering have been instrumental in my becoming more outgoing and more of a leader. Teamwork is a must with school sports and a club team - every year its new challenges and goals we have to achieve together.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I gained weight during the pandemic and had difficulty losing the lbs. I have since conquered this with consistent effort in the gym on the court and with better focus on healthy foods and good diet. It was a challenge to overcome this and know I will remain alert to this health danger in the future.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college that can assist me with my pre-Med goals and I want to play volleyball at the college level. I am open to all colleges and locations and look forward to the adventure ahead. I do believe that every type of college has its unique gifts if one approaches it with an open mind.
