Hogan enjoyed a super junior season this past fall in helping Beckman Catholic reach the state tournament. She led the Trailblazers with 506 digs. Her 75 assists speak to her ability to control the two ball and deliver to the pins. I saw Hogan at the state tournament and again in January at the Rochester M1 Elite Scrimmages. That CIA 17 Black team went on to secure a Freedom Division bid to the USAV National Tournament this summer in Indianapolis. Hogan flashes quick reflexes in the back row. She moves well laterally and covers a lot of the court. Hogan can deaden the pace of the attack and turn it into accurate passes. She puts herself in position to make plays by reading the opposition and tracking the ball well. A potent service game also leads to positive results for her team. Hogan is a strong leader in the back row and communicates well with teammates.

So solid. Hogan is another libero from the Class of 2027 who needs some looks for the next level. She was a major part to the success of Beckman which landed them in the Class 2A state tournament. She has played her club ball for CIA and is one who brings a controlled first touch and can bring calm to the chaos when her side is out of system.

The Trailblazers reached the state semifinals with Hogan coming up with 275 digs as a sophomore in 2024. It foreshadowed what should be a memorable prep run the next few seasons. Hogan has set herself up for that success by developing in two of the state’s top volleyball programs. She has the desired traits for a defensive specialist in her toolbox. Hogan moves well laterally and shows sharp reflexes. She’s sound in serve-receive and against the attack by combining her natural gifts with keen anticipation.

Serve receive is one of the most important key aspects of the game. When I watched CIA play, Hogan held down the back court with her solid serve receive. She was able to keep her team in system for much of the tournament. Her contributions did not stop there. Hogan was also scrappy on defense and covered a lot of ground by picking up numerous pushes and tips with her good reading skills and quick first step. Teams were not able to get much by her.
