About Aila

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

In gameplay, I always tend to take a leadership position on the court and I love leading the defense. I have been a Captain on my travel ball team and varsity high school team for two years. My height and experience running track also allow me to reach and cover more court. My mentality is extremely aggressive. Nothing drops, clear communication, and always compete.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a driven athlete. I do well under pressure and I push hard to accomplish goals and get things done. I am the first person to celebrate and get excited for my teammates and the last person to stop yelling. I have and continue to be very vocal on and off the court. My mentality is all out, all of the time.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a Pitman Pride Ambassador (mentoring incoming Freshman), PHAST Club, PHAST Chapter of the Year, Pitman Development Foundation MVP Award, Outstanding Character Award, Superintendent's Senate Council, Drama Club, ASB (Associated Student Body) member, ASB Brave and Bold Award, Portuguese Club, Academic Scholar Athlete for Volleyball, Academic Scholar Athlete for Track, and Principal's Honor Roll

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through years of playing volleyball, I have developed my leadership skills, but more importantly, I have learned to have more patience. Being able to understand my teammates and the type of player they are on the court has helped me understand what I can do to encourage the best version of themselves. This has been a huge factor in my relationships with my teammates and a vital skill on the cour

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a team and coach that will challenge me. It is very important that my teammates have a huge drive and consistent hustle. I would like the atmosphere/program to have a sense of community, good academics, and a support system that helps students thrive.
