There is a version of a 5’10” outside hitter who relies entirely on her physical advantages to produce and there is a version who learns to play the game. Alayna Wilson Alayna Wilson 5'10" | OH/DS/L Trinity Preparatory Academy | 2029 TX plays the entire game extremely well. Her approach footwork was deliberate and she loaded her swing correctly rather than just reaching back and swinging as hard as she could. She read the block and made hand adjustments at contact rather than committing to one shot and executing it regardless of what the defense gave her. Her serve receive was solid and she stayed engaged in the back row throughout the entire session without the lapses that appear in younger outside hitters when they stop thinking about their defensive responsibilities. Court coaches left the Dallas Sophomore ID Camp with her name written down and so did I. I can’t wait to rank this class and see where she falls.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
