Zuniga’s Valley Venom – 161 Red finished ninth in Houston with a campaign of two wins and three losses. The setter wore a lot of hats for the team, performing multiple roles at a high level and contributing in several different areas of the game. When setting, Zuniga kept the team in a good rhythm, playing with great consistency and making good decisions with her distribution. The setter also contributed with her passing and hitting, scoring with powerful swings and smart tips, from the right and the left. Zuniga also had good moments with her blocking, getting some stuffs during the day.

Zuniga was one of the most exciting new faces the last club season brought and I’m looking forward to watching her in action again after a few months – she will be with Valley Venom – 161 Red in the 16 Open division. Last season, she was a huge part of that team, running their offense masterfully and strongly contributing in other areas with her impressive all-around game. Zuniga has a very nice touch on the ball and is very good at sharing the ball among her hitters and remaining precise. She’s also a big part of the team’s offense, using her size and heavy arm to swing from the right. The setter works very hard on the court and brings a lot of energy to her teammates.

Zuniga was one of the nicest surprises of the last club season playing with Valley Venon – 151 Red. A very complete player, she helped her team in a variety of ways and displayed an excellent skill set. Zuniga has precise hands, a very high volleyball IQ and is one of those players who deliver under pressure, remaining calm and productive no matter what. She can also hit at a very high level and was set quite often when she was at the net. Despite all those skills, perhaps the main things about Zuniga are her relentless work and her unwavering determination to get things done and succeed, which will most likely take her very far.

Setters who make a great impact on their teams always catch my attention and not many were at the same level as Zuniga when it comes to that. She was the brains and the soul of her Valley Venon – 151 Red team, being involved with a lot of what they did on the court. Besides being very smooth with her ball distribution, she also displayed a very high volleyball IQ, which helped her to make the most of difficult situations and remain accurate and lucid no matter what. Zuniga would also take up hitting duties when at the net and became one of the team’s most-used offensive players, swinging hard from the right.

Very intelligent on the court, she made big plays for her team and had a pivotal role in running their offense. Zuniga was very smooth when setting and was able to remain accurate even in tough situations. She also took on hitting duties when at the net and scored at a good rate using her surprisingly powerful right arm. A very complete player, the setter made some strong defensive plays on the backcourt and even strengthened Valley Venon’s passing system when she wasn’t setting.
