About Alexa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am good under pressure and always have a good mindset on the court. I do not get frustrated easily and am good at leaning on my teammates if I am struggling. I am a smart player that can read and get to the ball quickly.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a strong mind when it comes to pressure and frustration. I am good at staying calm under pressure and can calm my nerves when I am stressed. I like to stay positive on the court because I have learned that having a negative does not help me in any way. I am good at joking and making people smile but can still lock in when I need to.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in multiple other sports, have received many academic awards, and am involved in medical centered clubs at my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many leadership qualities due to being involved in SCA at my school, teaching kids at volleyball camps, and teaching kids at my church. Many of these have taught me how to work as a team as well as my summer job as a lifeguard.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Starting late due to doing competitive gymnastics for 12 years I had to learn how to not get frustrated when first learning the game. I had to put in 2 times the amount of work to catch up to the skill level of the people around me and have never stopped working to get where I am today. Starting in only my freshman year of high school, most people had already been playing for multiple years.

What type of college are you looking for?

Small to medium sized school with a sports medicine major (Physical Therapy, Exercise Science), college town or suburban surrounding, with any distance from home.
