Expert Analysis
Bob Abels | Prep Dig Scout
Violet played up a year competing with Virginia Juniors 17. She showed her versatility hitting both right side and left side allowing her.to move from 92 to 55 in the rankings. I first noticed her taking swings for Patriot. While she hit the ball very hard she struggled with consistency in finding the court. Her hitting percentage that season sat at .175.
Watch for some big improvement this year after her play at Virginia Juniors. Many of those spikes that sailed out last year should hit the floor in 2025. Last year she finished second on her team in kills. Expect to see a few more kills in her game this year with more six rotation play.

at Patriot. She hit left side for them. As a sophomore she finished second on her team in kills. There was not a lot of six rotation opportunities for her but that should increase as her game improves. She still needs to find a little more consistency with her hits as well.
Violet also won a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase. That was based more on her potential. When her timing is right she connects with the ball with force. That ball finds the floor fast. Unfortunately, when she is early that ball flies beyond the court. More repetitions will correct that.
Perhaps that potential is coming to fruition. Violet finds herself playing up a year with the Virginia Juniors 17 team.

At 5’10” she brings decent size to the left side as a sophomore. Her attack approach reaches 9’9″. With a couple more inches of growth, improvement in her approach and more physical training to enhance her jump and she could be dangerous. Sometimes her approach is too early on higher sets which causes her to hit underneath the ball and rifle her hit out. Tight sets tend to handcuff her as well. With more repetitions over time the hope is she will learn to swipe a tip off the block.
For a class of 2027 there exists a lot of potential in her game. With a major in engineering she certainly brings intelligence to the court. After watching her play with Patriot a rise in the rankings would not surprise me.

Violet (pictured above) swings hard with a fast arm swing that brings velocity to her hits. She stands 5’10” so with a little growth she could be an effective right side. Last year she played for the Patriot junior varsity. Based on what I have seen she should be seeing the varsity this year. Violet debuts at number 100 in our class of 2027.
