About Alexis

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a well rounded, utility player with experience as a RS, OH, MB/MH, and serving. I play with determination and intensity, but also like to keep it fun and positive.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am positive, fun and enjoy mentoring young players. I am supportive of others and like to have a cohesive team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in the High School Leadership club, I managed our first JV boys club volleyball team for New Prague and coached youth summer volleyball camps.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned good time management, leadership, and communication skills over the last year. I realized I like teaching and helping kids learn the game of volleyball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. When I was 15, I dislocated my thumb attempting to block during a volleyball tournament with 1 month until AAU nationals. I was worried that my volleyball career was over. But I was able to return 1 week later and had to learn how to play with a plastic brace covering most of my hand. I also had to overcome my fear of blocking again.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with an accredited nursing program and a competitive volleyball program with a good culture.
