who is well trained from her footwork to her hands as well as knowing which attacker can feed and when. She just glides on the court, she moves well where she can make the most out of whatever situation her side of the net is in. This will be a fun team to track through the qualifier season. This team won four of their last five matches at NIT, generating momentum for the Badger Region Qualifier February 28 and March 1.

Babiash had a huge freshman year for Waupun. She had nearly 700 assists and nearly 300 digs for a breakout year. What is the strongest about her game is how well rounded she is. She will find ways to put her teammates in position for success whether that’s with the first or second contact. This season she can take a more offensive role where she can look to score points on her own as well.

Alexis brings consistency and grit to the setter position. She is a scrappy defender who will do everything in her power to prevent the ball from touching the ground. Alexis makes gritty plays when necessary, but does her best to control the ball at every turn. She spreads her offense well and isn’t afraid to make aggressive choices and set against the grain. Alexis works incredibly hard on the court and plays at a very high level for her age.

Alexis has been on my radar for a few months, and she really played a great weekend of volleyball at MEQ. She was relentless from the service line, played gritty defense, and doled out clean, precise sets to her hitters. Alexis ran a balanced offense and moved the ball around quickly and efficiently. Her ceiling is so high, and I cannot wait to see what she does the rest of the season.

Babiash is a freshman that earned significant playing time this past fall at Waupun High School. In fact, I would be surprised if she ever left the court. While quarterbacking the show at Waupun, Babiash delivered 692 assists, 281 digs, 45 kills, and 46 aces to lead her high school team to a winning record. Not only does she deliver a clean, hittable ball, but she is super scrappy and plays stellar defense. Babiash will be with FC Elite in Appleton in a few weeks and it will be fun to watch her lead this team of outstanding 15s.

Don’t take your eye off Alexis. She is an absolute dynamite athlete who runs the court efficiently. She has 593 assists and 228 digs this season so far for Waupun. Her contribution is no small feat, and she is an unstoppable force.
