Amaya Ancrile brings high energy and strong communication to every rotation, and her offensive game backs it up. She hits, blocks, and reads the court with an aggressive mindset that doesn’t let up during long rallies. She is a coachable player who plays for her team’s needs first, and that shows in how dependable she has become on both sides of the ball. Since last season, she has grown more confident and more decisive, trading hesitation for smarter, faster choices in the moment. She is building her recruiting process the right way, reaching out to coaches directly, getting to camps and showcases, and putting together film that actually reflects how she competes. She plays like someone who wants to make everyone around her better, and that instinct is exactly what college programs are looking for.

Amaya competed at the Cal Kickoff in San Mateo in what was her team’s first tournament playing together, and she came away proud of the group’s potential and overall performance. As a team captain, she focused on leading by example and maintaining a positive presence while continuing to grow as both a player and leader. Her next area of focus is becoming even more effective in leadership and sharpening her offensive toolkit, especially tipping faster and deeper into the corners. Amaya describes herself as bubbly, kind, and someone who brings joy to those around her, often using humor to connect with her teammates.

Amaya will compete next at the Power League Qualifier on January 31–February 1.
