For Angela, Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, pride, and ensuring that no one is forgotten.

She sees the holiday as a reminder to celebrate her culture and take pride in who she is. Angela’s greatest inspiration is her great-grandmother, Pearl Burton, whose perseverance and determination continue to influence her today. Despite facing challenges and having only a ninth-grade education early in life, Burton later earned her bachelor’s degree at age 55, proving that dreams can be achieved at any stage of life.

Angela hopes to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. In the future, she aspires to manage major engineering projects or create inventions that make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Angela turned up the heat this club season and emerged as one of the more impactful pin hitters in the 2028 class. A former middle blocker, she has thrived since making the transition to the outside, showcasing her athleticism, energy, and ability to score points in a variety of ways. Angela has become a go-to offensive option for her team, consistently delivering in key moments with a strong arm and aggressive attacking mentality. It is always a joy to walk into the gym and see Angela’s smile. As always, Angela brought explosive energy and a heavy arm that immediately turned heads. She has a true cannon, contacting the ball high and driving it with pace to every zone. Her presence gave her side instant momentum in long rallies. Angela’s competitiveness is paired with strong athleticism, and she consistently created offensive pressure while staying engaged on the defensive side of the ball.
