Angelique Bernard named MVP at PrepDig’s Exposure Tour in Northern California.
Angelique provided a strong presence at the net, showing reliable blocking and the ability to make every set work. She was efficient offensively, minimizing unforced errors and maintaining control in transition. Angelique shared that her quick feet and reaction time are her strongest skills, and she used those strengths to close blocks and extend rallies with confident touches.
She is currently focused on improving her connection with setters, saying she communicates actively to help both sides grow together. Angelique’s goal this season is to be the best version of herself for her team and help them earn a trip to Nationals. Having moved seven times to four different states due to her family’s military background, she brings resilience and adaptability that translated beautifully on the court.

Bernard is a fantastic middle who knows how to leverage her impressive vertical and quickness to make her a force to be reckoned with on the court. She showcased excellent court awareness, fluidly reading the ball and moving seamlessly from pin to pin closing the block or securing well timed block touches that the backcourt easily handled. Additionally, she has an arsenals of shots that she can unload, especially since she knows how to maneuver to get herself available for her setter on nearly every play.

Bernard has been a significant part of the success of the Dakine 16 team this season. Cat quick and very explosive out of the middle, Bernard hammers down kills before opposing defenders have time to set any sort of block. The respect she demands as an attacking threat opens up the rest of the offense for the team overall. Just 5’9″, Bernard plays much bigger as a blocker and attacker than her listed height.

Bernard is sudden—fast off the floor and on top of defenders and attackers before they are ready. In the final, she racked up three quick kills against Skyline, turning the ball around the block and hammering it down both directions before sending a clever tip to the “4” when the OH attempted a double block. Bernard is consistently up and ready for a set; she works hard and keeps her blocker occupied to open up the offense for Dakine.

Bernard is one of the most explosive players in the class of 2027, and she is among the leaders in total blocks in the state. The South Kitsap prospect has a dynamic vertical when she sets up as a blocker and moves quickly to the pins to cover the seams. At 1.3 blocks per set, Bernard is a force defensively, and she is also hitting an excellent .300 in the season.

Bernard has been explosive all season long, and it was no different for the Dakine standout at USAV National in Vegas. When she is dialed in on the opposing middle, she can deliver a momentum-changing monster block. The South Kitsap stand out was difficult for teams to handle when she ran a seam route away from the middle blocker; her quickness and vertical let her snap the ball down before the block was able to close.

Bernard was a dominant force in the middle for Dakine. She was too long, too quick off the floor and too explosive for most teams to defend. Bernard was serving tough, and did a tremendous job of disrupting the middle attack as a blocker. She caused attackers to roll and tip, and Dakine turned those easy opportunities into points in transition.

Bernard plays with confidence and had a stand out freshman year at South Kitsap. She racks up blocks with her ability to get up off the court quickly and smother opposing hitters. The Dakine 15 Surf 2027 prospect can snap down a kill off a quick set, she has a whippy arm swing and gets on top of the ball with her excellent vertical. Bernard is quick in transition and is running an excellent 31 in the seam in the early part of the club season.
