After finishing third in the Patriot Division at Nationals last season, her goal is to help her team take the next step and compete for first. Hardcastle is a fierce little that plays at an elevated level. She knows how to stay low and balanced, absorbing big attacks with ease and making tough plays look effortless. Her speed, reactions, and exemplary reading ability allowed her to anticipate balls and react meticulously. She also brought finesse to the game, as she accurately delivered free balls to target and to the pin when out of system. The combination of speed, poise, and overall skill level make her a backcourt standout.

Hardcastle was one of the grittiest defenders on the court. She played with a fearless edge, throwing her body into every pursuit opportunity and refusing to let the ball hit the floor without a fight. Her defensive reads were sharp — she stayed patient, held her base, and made high-level digs off hard-driven balls. In serve receive, she showed confidence handling tough servers and adjusting mid-rep when locations shifted. What I’m hoping to see this club season: Growth in out-of-system ball control, especially being the defender who can convert a tough dig into an in-system pass.

For Ariana Hardcastle Ariana Hardcastle 4'5" | DS/L Saint Mary’s | 2029 CA , there’s no “one thing” she loves most about volleyball…she loves it all. The grind, the camaraderie, the challenge, the competition, it’s what fuels her. She brings versatility and vision to the backcourt, with a natural ability to read hitters and cover the floor. She’s currently working on tightening up her platform and footwork to fine-tune her first contact.

Ariana’s favorite moment came mid-match when her team learned they earned a bid to Nationals, a reminder that hard work pays off when you least expect it. She’s got some serious flexibility…literally. Her gymnastics background sometimes kicks in during plays where she drops into the splits to save a ball. Off the court, she finds her peace on the trampoline and in her music. Her goals are grounded: keep that scholar-athlete status and continue evolving as a student and teammate.
