Expert Analysis
Samantha Fitzgerald | Prep Dig Scout
Wilson has appeared repeatedly in Holy Innocents’ coverage for both offensive production and blocking. That’s an important combination because front-row value should always be evaluated in two directions. A player can score ten times and still give points back if she’s consistently late or undisciplined on the block.
Wilson’s value comes from being relevant on both sides of the net. From a recruiting perspective, I want to see how well those two skills connect. Can she land from an attacking transition and immediately identify her next blocking assignment? Can she read rather than simply chase the opposing setter? Are her hands taking away useful space for the defense behind her? Front-row players who understand that blocking isn’t an individual statistic but part of a team defensive system become much easier to project. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
